Hope and Yearning

What can we "do" in these troubled times? Maybe the point is not the doing but the becoming? Can we preach to those who cannot hear becuase of their fear? Or is the only way to live the life that in itself speaks for us and our hopes?

Entertaining?

We had dinner last night with our favourite cousins. At the end of the meal, after they had left, Hope asked me if I still liked them. She asked me because I had not said much during dinner.

As a younger man, I had entertained more at the table. Growing up at home was all about "singing for your supper" I don't like that any more. I really find small talk very difficult now and would rather listen
